Zikhone Beach is on the Bay of Bengal coast in Myanmar (Burma), near Gwa Township, South Rakhine State. The beach is located 280 kilometers from Yangon (a 8 to 9 hour drive), and 120 kilometers (a 4 to 5 hour drive) from Ngapali Beach, and it is one of the untouched beaches in Myanmar. Zikhone is spectacular beach where swimming is safe with crystal clear waters around you. The village is not on the beach and the only buildings by the beach are the authentic Rakhine wooden houses of the fantastic Arakan Nature Lodge.

Arakan Natural Lodge

Arakan Nature Lodge is Myanmar’s first true eco lodge and this lodge is 100% solar powered 24h/day. It features 10 units in total, eight beach houses and one garden house with two rooms stand scattered along the shore of our beach land within a seven acres coconut grove. A unique beach house feature is that you can enjoy an outdoor bathroom concept offering full privacy with view-protected open-air shower space attached to each house. Similarly, each house has its own private luxury composting toilet, no plastic bottles, run the kitchen and laundry wastewater through a grey water garden and practice up-to-date waste management and recycling. The lodge provides full board with all meals included as there are no restaurants in our village and foods are aromatic and so delicious.

In the restaurant, dine on fresh local seafood cooked to traditional recipes, and delicious vegetarian options. Guests are invited to join in the cooking and have fun in the open kitchen, baking your own bread in the outdoor clay oven and even putting together your own meals if you wish to. On the beach you are provided with shaded lounge space, easy chairs and hammock options and discover the cool and cozy logic of local living with its super-natural feel.
