Tour Route: Yangon-Pyay-Yangon
Transfer to Pyay (286 km, 5 hours), situated near the ancient capital of Sri Ksetra. En-route stops at villages to learn the daily life of local people more closely. Also visit Shwe Myet Hman Pagoda (which is home to a most unusual Buddha image – one who wears gold-rimmed spectacles) in Shwe Taung, a small town close to Pyay and check in hotel.
In the evening, visit Shwesnadaw Pagoda, which is similar in design to Shwezigon in Bagan, and is one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage spots in Myanmar. An enormous seated Buddha figure rises up from the tree line adjacent to Shwesandaw which is called Sae Htut Gyi Pagoda. Finally, walk along the strand road on the bank of Ayeyarwaddy River and stroll through small and crowded night market selling varieties of fruits, vegetables and local snacks before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Pyay.

After breakfast, about 2 hrs. drive to the outskirts of Pyay and across the new bridge to Htone Bo Village and continue by local private boat to Akaut Taung to observe the Ancient Buddha Images Carved on Stone Walls of Akauk Mountain, near the bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. Akauk Mountain has green forest cover and it is very pleasant place. This mountain is the auspicious land, filled with historic Shwe Myintin Pagoda as well as other pagodas and religious edifies. Moreover, there are ravines, gorges, streams and natural scenic beauty for visitors for relaxation and recreation. It is believed that those Buddha Images are carved since many years ago. Artistic craftsman who travelled along the River while doing their business has carved these. Afterwards, drive back to Pyay.
In the afternoon, drive out of Pyay to discover the ancient stupas of the Sri Ksetra Phu Ancient city, and visit Bow Bow Gyi and Be Be Gyi pagoda. Then, proceed to ruins palace of Pyu dynasty and Mawza museum which is a small museum with a collection of artifacts collected from excavations, including royal funerary urns, stone relieves, a couple of Bodhisattavas, a Dvrapala (great guardian), statues of the Hindu deities Tara Devi, Vishnu & Lakshmi, several 6th century Buddha images, tile fragments, terracotta votive tablets and silver coins minted in the kingdom. Afterward, drive back to Pyay and overnight in Pyay.
