Tour Route: Mdl-Pyin Oo Lwin-Hsipaw-Mdl

After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive out from Mandalay to the former British hill station of Maymyo also named Pyin Oo Lwin (68 km, 1.5 hours drive) – which is over 1000 meter above sea-level. It is well known for its colonial style houses with large compound and pine tree and check in Hotel. Sightseeing includes: National Kandawgyi Park where various kinds of trees and multi colored flowers are in abundance, offering magnificent views, visit Htoo Orange farm and BE fall. Take a new experience and visit Market place in downtown and colonial buildings. Then, visit Peik Chin Myaung Caves, and finally Mahar Aunthtoo Kanthar Pagoda. Overnight in Pyin Oo Lwin.

Afterwards, visit National Kandawgyi Park where various kinds of trees and multi colored flowers are in abundance, offering magnificent views. Take a new experience on horse-cart around the Market place in downtown and colonial buildings. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant.  In the afternoon, visit Pwe-kauk waterfall, relaxing a few minutes under shady trees. Overnight in Pyin Oo Lwin.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit morning flower market, and then transfer to Pyin Oo Lwin station to take a train over Gokteik Viaduct to Nyaung Pain railway station (131 up, 08:09 – 11:08). The bridge was built in British Period and it was the largest railway trestle in the world at the time of completion.  You will have a life time experience while train passing over the famed Gokteik Viaduct and get off Naung Pain where you continue your journey by road to Hsipaw; a small town traditionally ruled by the Sawbwa who are Chieftains of region.

Before Check in Hotel, sightseeing in Hsipaw which includes Shan Palace Museum where Abode of Tragic Shan Pri8nce and his family lived (if opens). Next, Baw Kyo Pagoda, which is located in Baw Kyo village. It is a pride pagoda of Hsipaw. Here, you will have a chance to see the many ancient pagodas.  Overnight in Hsipaw.

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch        

After breakfast in the hotel guest will be met by local guide. Walk to the jetty on the bank of the Dokthawady River and take a boat up the river. Enjoy the beautiful scenery full of mountains, valleys, orange, and orchard plantations along the river for about one hour. Leave the boat and walk up the hill for about half an hour to see a Shan monastery believed to be 150 years old. On the way you will see plantations of pineapple, papaya, and orange, which are widely grown along the way to the monastery. Return to the boat and continue your journey to the confluence of two rivers, where swimming is possible. Enjoy the view, take a dip in cool water and return to Hsipaw. On the way you can visit a Shan village with typical houses, small charming garden, and railway connecting Mandalay and Lashio, and a small animist temple. Picnic lunch will be served in the village.

After lunch, walk to farmers’ villages enjoying the panoramic scenery of paddy fields, seasonal crops, mountains, and a river. Experience traditional lifestyle of Shan Villages by visiting houses, where women weave, roll cheroots, and produce fans and bamboo baskets. After about four hours of walking you will be back to Hsipaw.

Meals: Breakfast and Picnic Lunch       

After breakfast in the hotel guest will be met by local guide. Transfer to trekking starting by car and then walk through Hsipaw, paddy-field, multi-denominational cemeteries, and along a stream hosting a number of improvised power plants on a flat terrain for about 2 hours. Next 3-4 hours is a steady climb on a rocky road among the beautiful mountainous landscape, seasonal crops, Shan villages, and a tea plantation. The climb is not too steep, as the villagers are able to go up and down on their motorbikes.

Picnic lunch will be served in the village and learn about traditional lifestyle of Palaung Hill Tribe (Mon Kamer) whose women still wear their traditional costumes. Meet with the villagers and try to understand their conversation with the help of local trekking guide. In the evening, return Hsipaw, by taking the same way to the trekking point. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Hsipaw.

Meals: Breakfast and Picnic Lunch   

After Breakfast, drive back to Mandalay (about 7 to 8 hrs). On the way, stop at Kyaukme for short visit and also coffee break at View Point where you will have a chance to observe direct view of Dattawgyaing water fall. Arrive Mandalay in the late afternoon and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Mandalay.

Cancellation Policy

  • 30% of total package price should be deposited once the booking is confirmed
  • 5% of total package price will be charged if cancellation after the deposit made
  • 10% of total package price will be charged if cancellation received from 30 days to 16 days prior arrival date
  • 50% of total package will be charged if cancellation received from 15 days to 5 days prior arrival date
  • 100% of total tour price will be charged if cancellation received less than 4 days and no show
